A bamboo board they file their own nails on, in exchange for the treats they can smell.
Now how does
it work ?
The tray slides into the back of the board and stays face up, so nothing tips and nothing spills. Four scent holes let the smell up through the filing surface. They can smell exactly where dinner is. Getting to it is the part they have to work for.
- 120 grit abrasive sits on the 2.0 mm TPU cushion, not bonded straight to the board, so the grit and the give work together instead of trading off.
- Four scent holes sit at the top of the filing surface, right where their nose lands first when they lean in after the smell.
- The tray loads from the back, out of paw's reach. They can smell the treats but can't solve their way to them, which keeps them coming back to the board instead of the shortcut.
Three-step guide

Load
Fill the tray. Slide it in.

Set
Flat to start. Prop it to 30 degrees once they have the hang of it.

Step back
Let them dig. That is the whole thing.
A hard board only
files the longest nail.
Bond abrasive straight onto a rigid board and the longest two or three nails take all the pressure. The 2.0 mm TPU cushion underneath ours gives under each nail on its own, so all five make contact instead of the tallest two.
The slide-in tray
Loads face up, retained in the back of the board. Nothing to snap, nothing to jam.
Replaceable abrasive
The sheet lifts off its cushion and swaps for a fresh one when it wears down.
